Match Preview PM R16(2) | Selangor FC vs Sri Pahang FC | Round Two Against The Elephants

Selangor FC will continue their journey this week in the Unifi Malaysia Cup 2024/25 Round of 16 second leg match against Sri Pahang FC at the MBPJ Stadium, Kelana Jaya, at 8:30 PM.

This will be the 127th meeting between the two teams. The Red Giants have won 66 matches, while 29 encounters ended in a draw. Additionally, a total of 222 goals have been scored in previous meetings between Selangor FC and Sri Pahang FC.

Taking lessons from the previous match, Head Coach Katsuhito Kinoshi stated that the team has made the necessary preparations and he is confident the players will deliver a better performance than in the last match.

"For me, the most important thing for tonight's match is to score more goals, and I take responsibility for making that happen. We (the coaching staff) have worked hard on recovery training after the recent ACL Two match and made sure the players are mentally prepared. From the training sessions we've had, I am confident the team will perform better and execute the plans we've laid out," said Kinoshi.

Regarding the availability of players, several key players from Selangor FC have been sidelined due to injuries. Noor Al-Rawabdeh is out with an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury, Ruventhiran has a tissue injury in his front leg, Khuzaimi is dealing with a hamstring strain, while Samuel Somerville has a knee injury.

Selangor FC's management extends their best wishes to the team as they aim to progress to the next round. We will always stand behind the Red Giants. Let’s go, Merah Kuning Ku!
